Dr. Gail Burgos presented at one of our weekly Rotary Club of Columbus meetings, sharing an inspiring approach to diversity and inclusion. Her revealing the many aspects of unconscious biases, in her own way she brought us to a reality of showing how unthoughtful simplicities in life can create difficult spaces. She’s gifted in the areas of inclusiveness and cohesion of diverse communities. Dr Burgos is a definite asset to Rotary and the Rotary Club of Columbus.
Dr. Gail Burgos provided the DEI training for our staff at the battered women’s shelter and did an amazing job. Her insight and expertise on this changed the way that our staff works. She opened all of our eyes to our unconscious bias’s and helped us move to conscious inclusion. The population that we serve is very diverse and this training helped make each one of us better. We are all thankful for Gail and the work she does and the difference that she makes in each organization she trains and the community.
We had the pleasure of hearing Dr. Gail Burgos speak on the topic of diversity, equity, & inclusion during Columbus State University’s 2022 Diversity Conference, a component of the Diversity Forum held at CSU each year. Dr. Burgos was intentional throughout her keynote address ensuring that the audience was engaged and truly got to know more about her background and experiences. She related how her childhood and experiences helped her to understand what diversity meant and how to push to continue to equity and inclusion in different spaces (job, family, school, etc.). Overall, it was clear that all her experiences were assets in crafting the message that was delivered. Dr. Burgos was transparent, timely, and her message truly captivated the audience. We look forward to having Dr. Burgos at other events! Thanks for coming and bringing such an awesome message!
Dr. Gail Burgos is a consummate professional. She has the four E’s that I believe are critical in a leader- experience, execution, education and executive presence. For the critical work of D, E and I- I believe edge is needed.
